Our Memorial Room is currently closed due to the redevelopment of the airport, but we have a small display of items in the main terminal building. Enter through the main doors beneath the airport sign and the cabinets are located to the left along the corridor.

The Memorial Garden is available to visit.

It is best to contact the airport on 01325 332811 before your visit to ensure someone will be available to unlock the gate.

Please use the new Visitors Car Park which is well signposted at the main airport entrance roundabout. This is a pay on exit car park or you can redeem your parking fee at the café in the passenger terminal. Spend £3 in the café, have your receipt verified there and you get two hours parking with nothing to pay on exit. The walk from the Visitors Car Park to the Memorial Garden is some distance but a wheelchair may be freely borrowed at the Information Desk in the Passenger Terminal if required.

NOTE: Do not use the Main Long Stay Car Park as the minimum daily fee is £23 and not redeemable. Regrettably there is currently no vehicle access directly into the Memorial Garden area.

The Memorial Garden, is situated at the opposite side of the carpark from the Terminal building, follow the black and white striped footpath which bisects the longstay car park infront of the terminal building, to the pedestrian gate in the fence on the northern side. Please let yourself in via this gate, a ramp leads down to the garden. Our members continue to maintain the memorial and garden which is being monitored full time by CCTV. There is no access to the former St George Hotel building (originally the Officers Mess).

Our memorial garden also provides a resting place for the ashes of a number of those who served at Middleton St George. If family members of those who served would like to have ashes placed in the garden, please get in touch so arrangements can be made. We are currently compiling a memorial book, if you know of anyone whose ashes have been placed in the garden, please could you let us know as we would like to include as many names as possible.
